Calvary Community Church of Compton

Bishop Edward G. McLachlan
Calvary Community Church was foundered in 1952 by Bishop Edward G. McLachlan. The original church was a small facility located at the corner of Raymond and Whitemarsh in the city of Compton. The church went by the name of Calvary Church of Compton and was later affiliated with the Incorporated Church of God in Christ, which led to the new name: Calvary Community Church of God in Christ. The Church started out with 20 members, which consisted of mostly family and friends. Through the blessings of God, the church membership grew over the available capacity of "Little Calvary" resulting in relocation. The new church edifice is currently located at 950 West Alondra Blvd. in the city of Compton. Calvary Church is a family based membership, which grows stronger every year.

May everyone as a member or friend of this church know that without you it would be impossible for us to accomplish our goals. Yet, I believe God sent you to me and I to you. As children of God, together with God, we can do exploits for God.
